This is a known issue that we are working to understand. We've learned this can happen if the kettle is submerged in water (or if the connector piece is exposed to water).
If this is the case, the majority of customers have reported that leaving the kettle and base apart for a few days remedies this issue. We'd recommend removing the lid of the kettle and placing the kettle upside down on a cloth for 2-3 days. If this doesn't remedy the issue, please reach out to us!
